National AI Studio established by AIM Centre

The recently launched National AI Studio at the AIM Centre (Advancing Innovation in Manufacturing), is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union, through the ERDF Northern and Western Regional Programme. A first-of-its-kind initiative in Ireland, the studio aims to bridge the gap between emerging AI technologies and real-world industrial applications.

The Studio will focus on research and development, industry collaboration, and hands-on AI adoption programmes, ensuring that businesses across Ireland can benefit from the latest advancements in artificial intelligence. The Studio will provide demonstrations to showcase practical applications of AI in manufacturing, launch an AI accelerator programme to support SMEs in integrating
AI into their operations, and introduce a Travelling AI Studio to bring AI expertise directly to businesses across the country.

AIM Centre recently appointed David Bermingham as director of AI with responsible for spearheading the launch and expansion of the AIM Centre’s National AI Studio.

Julie Dowling, CEO at AIM Centre, commented that David’s “expertise in AI and commitment to fostering innovation will be invaluable as we support businesses in leveraging AI for enhanced productivity, sustainability, and competitiveness.”

David Bermingham commented: “The National AI Studio will be the bridge between cutting-edge AI technology and practical manufacturing applications. I am looking forward to working with industry leaders, researchers, and SMEs to advance AI adoption and unlock new opportunities for the sector.”

AIM Centre is Ireland’s leading innovation hub for manufacturing SMEs, dedicated to driving digital transformation and the adoption of advanced technologies. The launch of the National AI Studio for Manufacturing is a significant step towards reinforcing Ireland’s position as a leader in AI-driven manufacturing innovation.
