Commercial Rates Protest
A large crowd of businesses from Ennis and Kilrush turned out at the December Meeting of Clare County Council to show their protest as the increase in Commercial Rates of 11% and 18% respectfully in the towns over 2 years.
Ennis Chamber presented a letter addressed to the Cathaoirleach and distributed to all Councillors calling on the reversal of the decision. Failing agreement on this, Ennis Chamber has asked Clare County Council to commit to working with them on the details of the Rates Grant Incentive Scheme, Car Parking, and a Town Team.
The meeting of Clare County Council eventually agreed to accept the letter and bring it to the Executive for further discussion.
