A new hop-on, hop-off shuttle bus linking towns, villages and visitor attractions throughout North and West Clare is the subject of public consultation and engagement sessions taking place in Miltown Malbay and Kilfenora next week.

The free and bookable ‘Burren and Cliffs Explorer’ is set to be launched by Clare County Council, in partnership with the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), this summer. Operating as a pilot project from May 1st to August 31st with the potential to extend into September, the shuttle bus will serve Corofin, Ballyvaughan, Carran, Kilfenora, Doolin, Liscannor and Lahinch, as well as the hub locations of Lisdoonvarna and Miltown Malbay, where free car parking will be provided.

The scheduled service will also serve landmark attractions such as the Burren National Park and the Cliffs of Moher Experience. The Local Authority and NPWS are inviting residents, businesses, and key stakeholders to share their views to help shape the future of the initiative by attending public consultation events at the Community Centre in Miltown Malbay on Monday, April 7th and at the Burren Centre in Kilfenora on Tuesday, April 8th, with both sessions taking place from 5pm to 7pm. Representatives of the Cliffs of Moher Experience and the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark will be in attendance along with William Cormacan of the NPWS.
